Abundance in the new year

First, some good news from Gabriel:  He’s graduating from UH-Hilo on Saturday!  Yes, yes, yes!  He’s a communications major & plans on getting a Masters from Manoa in Special Education.  All this while holding his recruiting job with the National Guard.      Here he is in uniform with Auntie Ann when she was here in February.. Probably posted this already but what the heck i forgot to check..     Airi is getting famous for horseback riding & Kaia for dancing hula.  (She debuted at the Merrie Monarch this year!)

So after over a year of enforced absence, Brenda’s Hawaiian boyfriend William is with us again.  Bradley hosted a great celebration for the occasion of his homecoming & here are some glimpses of the revelry..                    There’s Will!  But which one?              Thanks to Brad & Jess for everything.  By the way, they are getting married in August!  Now that will be a big celebration!      Okay, here’s Wilma with orchid basket from Bruce & Nell.  But I think some of the garden pictures will have to wait a little while.  Will publish this anyway because that’s how I am.  Unfinished is better than undone…            Aloha & Happy Spring to All    From the Garden of  Little Lighthouses (& the Keeper of Many Bells)

      Now that Easter has come and gone

the flash flood warnings are here again

the garden is growing the streams are flowing

and birthdays are coming for two more grandchildren

Kiakahi will be 10 and Jamal will be 15!

We had a traditional Easter egg hunt with a few surprises.. 

Kaia & Airi visited a big bunny at the mall…  

And they both danced in the opening program for the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival!

For those of you who have never been to Hilo I like to include a few of my favorite photos of downtown.  This one actually centers on the building we used to live in.  I started with one room (with my first check from Ken’s House of Pancakes) & 5 years later we ended up with the whole top floor, before moving toKeaukaha.       (St. Joseph’s & Haili Church steeples)    (Hilo Bay Moonwalk)
