( Note:  this is a resurrected version of a post  that should have appeared in November.  It’s incomplete, maybe incoherent, but includes some pictures I hope you find interesting  or inspiring.)

Dear Friends,

After pausing awhile @ 12 posts & launching a 2nd weblog (called Hilo Shore Lines), I am pondering whether this should be another seasonal entry, an addition to the pumkin party page, or “just another wordpress post”… opting for the latter.  First, the leftover Halloween pictures:  pumkins-072pumkins-071 pumkins-063Broxcen glowing-eyes Brianna pumkins-0701  K & twins  pumkins-0831

Well, friends, it’s December already & I’m still working on a post from November…This one’s giving me some trouble so if it doesn’t work soon I’ll move on to another November post:  Kaia’s 4th Birthday Party.   Maybe I can squeeze in some news or otherwords between all the fun photos…

An attempt to insert Veteran’s Day parade video failed & this post slipped between the cracks due to technical difficulties, so it resurfaces as a special page.

On Thanksgiving Alika & Kelekolio Kuamoo turned seven!  They are the frequently-photographed twins of Bradley (Wilma’s youngest) & Jessica.

Their party was early this month on Coconut Island.

For more pictures of Moku Ola & other local scapes please visit my second weblog:

Hopefully soon we’ll figure out how to link the 2 sites & let lots of people out there know how to find them…  Also in the works is a third log called “Tributaries”, dedicated primarilly to that river called Music & its many branches.

Now back to the celebration on the “Island of Life”:

We are so blessed…

So lucky to live here with incredible beauty all around,

The peaceful pond & the mighty ocean,

The flowers, ferns & forests,

The black rock shores & the giant Mauna Kea

Now, you well may ask, what are those odd pictures & what about that palace at the top?

The little ones are just old tires turned into art.  The palace is a jigsaw puzzle Wilma put together of a place I’ve been to many times– in the early ’60’s & the early ’70’s.  It is the Spanish Royal Palace in Madrid!

So why not close with a glimpse of the great Pyramids?  No, I have never seen them.  Another puzzle…

Okay, this is Post # 9 of Ron’s Weblog.

It’s been a long & often-interrupted journey to get the journal this far.

Now the Scroll is Rolling & i don’t even know how to stop it.

Let’s just slip into the “random favorites” category for a little while.

i find it amazing to be able to take a picture

& send it out the same day

around the world

amazing to improvise & publish it anyway

wonderful to cast away fears & move forward with this experiment

The view of 3 palms (above, “Wailoa Pond”) is from my former workplace.  I say former because the bar/nightclub & the new restaurant got closed down by new owners… Long story for other ears.

I was a janitor.  Now I’m a musician again!

A half-dozen Japanese kids call me teacher.  Eleven grand children call me Papa.

Two granddaughters call me Grampa because they call Gabriel Papa.

We’re fortunate to be able to live here among the beauty of the Big Island!
